Please do send an AAR on that event I would love to hear how the USAK Casual holds up under those circumstances.

I did the USMC Mudrun in Camp Pendleton a couple years back and had to throw away my old woodland cammies afterward!!! I wish I'd have had a kilt that day. It sure would have been nice to wrap that bad boy on after the race and cruise around the after party.

My first three kilts were SK kilts and I too just wear them to lounge around the house. Ebay offers a lot of kilts for reasonable prices and I'm continuously adding to my collection.

If you do end up getting a Sportkilt Taxcollector, just make sure you check the weather report before going out & about with it on

Light breezes with SportKilts are horrifying, as that picture shows. Someone close to him must have caused a breeze by opening their car doors too quickly...

I think I'm going to stick with Stillwater for my first kilt, I Just fear buying a thrifty or a standard after hearing how easily they light on fire.

Well, I would never buy one without the sewn down fell ($12 extra) and I'm sure it helps stop them from aviating, although that's not the reason I get that. It's so I don't have to do ironing!

I'd save up a bit longer and go and speak to Rocky at USA Kilts. I reckon you'll be glad you did.

I'll second that. Having seen the both of them in person the difference in price is well worth the difference in quality.

I have one for the pipe band (only the pipers and drummers get "real" kilts) and just be aware of the "Marilyn Monroe" effect if it gets windy. Definitely not a kilt to wear regimental in public unless you want to get arrested. The full 8 yard kilts barely move in wind, SK's get quite billowy.
