Its great to have you on board David.
Llama's logo of 'The Rabble' I think is really fab with the tartan background ... although I still think the original statement is the one to go with .. A Transcontinental Gathering of Musicians.
Have pm'd you Llama

If anyone has a better picture of the Xmarks tartan, I would love to substitute it in. That's actually a bit of photoshoppy-magic of a tiny bit of the tartan that I had to flip and rotate to fill in the whole thing.

What about the background of this page?

I tried that, but it looked a little plain. I was hoping for a photo like Matt Newsome or Paul Henry takes. Close to the fabric and down the grain, as it were, to get the nice textural detail.

Agreed. A photo will look better than a graphic.

Derek,
Looks like a great idea coming to fruition. Could I quibble about the word "transcontinental", it implies 'across the or a, ie just one, continent'. In Australia we have transcontinental railways and highways, and the old telegraph lines.
You might like 'transglobal' instead, or 'worldwide', or something clever that begins with 'e-' or includes 'ether' or 'internet'.

Thanks for you input Grizzled ... much appreciated ..
How about
The Rabble
A Transglobal Internet Band
Open to opinions, but we need to get this wrapped up asap as our band here have a lot of gigs looming before christmas and I wont be able to spend time on the project then....
There will be a mix of the song up on here in next 48hrs .. I will put it up on Soundcloud and post up the link.
Its all being mixed in headphones (for now), so I would recommend sticking a pair on to get the benefit.

Why not just replace transcontinental with Intercontinental? The rest of the concept seems to stay the same.
Also with that tartan in the letters on the second logo, I like that version, I thought the idea was to make it seem a bit weathered and rough looking, as well as at an angle that we don't see on the background. I for one wouldn't change a thing.
