Thanks for checking. Sorry I've been so long in responding. I'm doing pretty well. I went to Asheville NC in early April to visit a Macrobiotic counselor. I had been doing the Macrobiotic diet since late January. I got a lot out of seeing the counselor.
I saw my doctor the middle of April and she said I was doing much better than she expected at this point. She thought that by now I would be on my last legs, having to have my wife bring me to for the doctor visits. She expected my liver to be enlarged and expected to be able to feel tumors through out my abdomen.
I've been walking one to three hours per day. I sold my motorcycle and bought some kayaks. When the weather permits and my energy is good I get out and kayak for two to four hours.
At times my energy is low but over all I'm doing pretty darn well.
I will get a CT scan on May 27 and see the doctor in early June to go over the results. I don't know if I'm going to beat this or not. Every time I have a little pain or anything out of the norm I get scared since I don't have any idea what is going on inside my body. My blood counts all look great except for a slightly elevated liver function and a very elevated CEA (tumor indicator) which more than doubles month to month. That is scary and yet all I can really do is ignore it as I don't have any way to stop it from rising.
I'm not working at all and that is great because I'm spending a lot of time with my wife Kathleen, son Jak and, daughter Sarah. I'm enjoying the heck out of life.
I have not been on the computer or in front of a television hardly at all since early April.
I get up every day around 6:00 a.m. and walk, then make breakfast. Usually walk some more, then make lunch, rest, spend time with Kathleen and Jak, have dinner and walk more.
Only one of my kilts still fits me, a Tripp kilt. I've lost almost 50 pounds since late January. I'm really skinny. I believe it's the diet, the doctor is concerned it's the cancer.
