Got the 'nice knees' and 'I feel underdressed' and a whistle in jest at the office today. Not unexpected - we're like that Some appreciative stares but not a word when I dropped by at wife's fav spa for her xmas stocking certificate.

Wore my 16oz BlackWatch PV from Atlanta Kilts with my SWK Nightstalker nylon sporran. boots with hiking socks pulled down and a polo rugby shirt. (Think Tartan Army). Got several bagpipe comments and a few that takes guts remarks. All positive though.
I need to get my hands on some of the older leather nights talker sporrans ant the nylon in brown. (Just for their versatility. )

While I was also wearing my kilt Friday, no adventures, but today, Saturday, I went to get a haircut and pick up some coffee. The man who cuts my hair and his coworkers have seen me in a kilt a few times, but up at the coffee shop while waiting in line at the bean counter I noticed an older couple at a nearby table looking at me and the woman said something to the man. He got up and came over and said, "that's a Black Watch, isn't it?" I replied and he said he has a story about Black Watch kilts. He was in the Canadian military "about 50 years" earlier and <some details lost here, coffee shop was loud, he had a soft voice> there was going to be a base inspection. The CO decided to get the old kilts out so they had to be unboxed, sorted, etc in preparation and he was one of those to do that.
They then wore the kilts on drills to get used to them. Apparently this was during a hot spell, so the men were pulling the bottom of the kilt up and tucking it into the belt to "get some air". "Some of the men didn't wear anything underneath, either" he mentioned. During the marching while the kilts were raised to an awkward but breezy length, the base CO and his wife were driving by and an abrupt command to HALT! was put out, causing several of the soldiers to run into those in front of them. Apparently the CO's wife was spared seeing more than she should as she drove by. All quite embarrassing and funny at the same time. By the time of the inspection the next day, everything was in order and there were no issues.
We talked about how heavy those kilts were (mine is a 16oz but only 4 yards). I asked if he got to keep a kilt. "No, not one of those Black Watch, but I have a Cameron!" On the way out another older man also asked about the tartan and after being told it was Black Watch, he said "ah yes, Black Watch" and nodded as I left.

I am making a special point of kilted Fridays.
My weight/size has been fluctuating of late. I am wearing a kilt a minimum of once a week to ensure that they still fit.
Today's kilt is a MacDonald Modern from Stillwater Kilts.

I doubt an ugly Christmas sweater has ever been so unfairly paired with the remaining fine attire. Well done, and enjoy your kilted Friday.

It was a fun day at the office being so festive attired. One Of the residents brought her very young granddaughter who really enjoyed the attire. She even blew me a kiss as she left the office.
Every one got a heartily Ho, Ho, Ho. All but one seemed to enjoy it, who replied back have a nice weekend.
Grocery Shopping after work a gal screamed with delight, you got a kilt on! Newly arrived to our area her parents where Scottish who had emigrated here where she was born. She was enthralled to learn about our local Scottish Society and next month's Burns Supper.
A marvelous Kilted Friday with a Christmas theme. Get to do it again Sunday with the
Welsh Society at their Christmas party.

HAwk, have you checked to see if your photos are small enough? I have had to resize a few of late. You know how the pounds come on without invitation...
