Normally, Balvenie Doublewood 17 year is my go-to. Glenlivet XXV on special occasions.
Tonight, however, I am Smoking a bowl in my Davorin Morta pipe with a couple drams of Ardbeg Corryvreckan.

Birthday treat...Highland Park Dark Origins. As good as the reviews make it out to be. Not a peat-heavy whisky, but full of flavor and depth.

I was at a very good tasting yesterday at the Brunswick Inn & Tavern in Brunswick, Maine. Each whiskey was nicely paired with great creation from their chef and each whisky producing region was represented. Here is the menu:
Course 1:
Glenkinchie 12
Cream Poached Lobster Skewer Rolled in Fresh Herbs
Course 2:
Cragganmore 12
Roast Butternut Squash and Apricot with Local Honey
and Smoked Pecan
Course 3:
Dalwhinnie 15
Shepards Pie Bite with Smoked Gouda
Course 4:
Talisker 10
Smoked Mussel & Rainbow Trout Chowder
Course 5:
Oban 14
BBQ Bison Meatballs
Course 6:
Lagavulin 16
Dark Chocolate Drizzled Rich Molasses Cookie
with Dried Cherry Compote
All I can say is that it's a good thing they don't host this every week. I'd never get anything done!

Mike: From good, gooder, to goodest I would rank them 4, 1, 2, 3, 6, 5.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Oh, you lucky. I would pick #4 as my #1, followed by the #3.

I was thinking #4, no 6, no 1, oh shucks, I want to try them all!
