My Pick
I like the first one, but then I am new. Also, does anyone no where you could find a pattern for making a kilt. I am pretty good sewing sails and gear bags and would like to try making my own, but need a pattern. Any help would be appreciated.

txboy, the best way to go is get BarbT's book The Art of Kiltmaking from www.celticdragonpress.com. The next best is the pattern and instruction set from www.folkwear.com that includes a vest and jacket pattern. Kilts aren't made from a pattern but the instructions from what I've listed are about the best you'll find.

Hi Tx
Actually, kilts aren't made from patterns. There are some very general instructions on the internet, but, if you're interested in making a traditional kilt, you might want to get a copy of (umm ahh...) my book, The Art of Kiltmaking. You can ask the guys of the forum about the book - quite a few of them have used the book to learn how to make a kilt, and several of them have now made more than one.
If you're interested, go to http://www.celticdragonpress.com
If you go this route, you can always e-mail me with questions!!

For what it is worth, I like them both but number one really stands out as impressive. I like the darker colors and the "feel" of them together. Now as this started quite a while back and I am relatively new to this forum a few questions.
1. Has one been chosen over the other?
2. If so which one won?
3. Are we (Xmarks) intending to have the tartan woven?
4. When can I order a traditional kilt with this tartan?
Thanks & carry on

Switchblade and ByDanD,
A choice has already been made, woven, delivered, and in the process of being made into kilts by a variety of sources. The background of this site is the one that was chosen. There have been other noob's, like myself, who are interested in possibly another run, but I have not heard any serious talk about pulling it together.
Oh, and welcome Switchblade!
