Aye, another lefty here. Although I write on a blackboard as a righty. My first grade teacher tried to convert me to right but I reversed hands as soon as she turned her back, but was unable to reverse at the blackboard as I was always in her vision and was "corrected".
Funny, all sporting activities I am right handed. I quess because my coaches were right handed and taught me to be the same.
I reckon I'm just mixed up. No problems with the kilt. Actually I explain to the unknowing that the difference between a kilt and a skirt is that the kilt is fastened on the right (masculine) as opposed to the skirt on the left or the rear (feminine). This I have found to be the most easily accepted difference.

As you have guessed I am a lefty also, or I would't have started this thread.
My father's brother was left handed and my youngest son is a lefty, but I know of no one else that is left handed in my family.
As for a "left handed" tartan (not kilt) I think that should be looked into.

Not really. I've seen it mentioned in a few places that left-handedness seems to skip generations. I've said my father is left-handed; his grandfather was left-handed, too, but his father was not. So I'm expecting my son to be left-handed.

Another lefty here. My mother and 2 of my nieces are also left-handed.
I recently got put on a machine at work where the start button is on the left. When I mentioned to the boss that here was a left-handed machine, he said "I know, it is annoying for me to reach across". My response? "Welcome to MY world!"

Serious Question: Is that not what a kilted skirt is, or does????

I am one of those odd Beasties that is right handed but left footed!! My left leg is my dominate one. I was the kicker on my high school football team and I could really boot with my left leg. I had a coach try to train me out of it. I could never get the distance on a field goal that I could with my left leg. Kicking right legged just did not seem natural to me. I have never seen any one else with this.
Does this mean I use less or more of my brain?? Not just left or right? Hey Hey be nice now!

Warhoover, I am the same way, right handed and left footed. worked out well in martial arts, everyone expected me to attack with a right kick, really confused some people.
I also shoot pool left handed.

Yes, there is no such thing as a left handed kilt. That is a kilted skirt that is buckled on the left. DO NOT CALL ROCKY unless you're ordering for your lady friend(s)!
