Stop blaming the HR for every thing. They don't really make the procedure and policy because those were dictated by the upper management. The HR department is what the upper management uses to enforce them.

One of the rules about dressing for the office, is that you don't wear your out of office clothes to work. This is good rule to follow. Fellows, stop thinking about yourself and think about your team.
I understand your point of view. I have to and like to wear a suit daily; except casual Friday, which makes dressing down a special thing. But my friend, let me tell you, it's about getting the boss to think about me; not the other way around.

If you are going to make the call, you need to justify why it is important for you to be able to wear the Kilt. You need to have a strong argument and to have at least a few reasons why you should be allowed to do it. Just because you work for Bank of Scotland, that doesn't grant you the right for wearing the kilt.
Seriously, why is so important that you have to wear your kilt to work.

We all have choices we make in life, those choices make us who we are. As you like to choose a slacks, shirt and tie, others want the choice of a kilt, shirt and tie. It is a matter of personal taste. I would love to wear one to work, but it is not worth losing my job, or being looked at under a spyglass due to causing a scene. Lets allow each other to make our choices and be OK with that. This is a place of friends who support each other. We are not required to respond to every post, sometimes it is best not to post than to argue.

If you're post is directed at me, I do not work for BoS; I am merely visiting them on business. Like I said, I like wearing suits to work, but the dress-code for this place is business casual. They are fine with me wearing the kilt.

I was under the impression that you work for Bank of Scotland. If they are fine with you kilted, that is good for you.

I was posting for the sake of argument. I posted because I wanted to offer a different point of view. Not everything needs be revolve around the kilt. There are more important things in life.
Just in case you wonder, I made a post that why I don't wear kilt to work a year ago. I posted because I want to offer a different point of view.
Is it so wrong to post an opposing view?

It is not wrong in any way to post an opposing view. It is just difficult, sometimes, to get the impression of that. Not being able to hear the tone of ones voice can change the meaning of ones words. Being typed, our words can be misinterpreted, or our meaning misunderstood. I mean no disrespect.
