The tickets might not be selling that quickly but remember its the press that are telling you this! The papers and politians have not been backing this from the start! The wife & I will be going for the games on saturday and hopefully a few freinds will come too Its what you make it and yes it might be touristy and clan so and so might not be the right one! I just want the vistors coming to my lovely city to have a great time something special that they will never forget you might see me the one in a kilt with a beer in my hand

count me in, all tickets purchased
spending some time on Barra before the games and then to Argyll & the Cowal peninsula to relax away from the crowds. Don't get me wrong, I think it is a event to not miss but the quiet of the country is what I really like,
see you guys this summer

I am planning to be in Edinburgh on the Sunday (26th July) of the gathering, and I have bought tickets for the Sunday event in Holyrood Park. I live about 55 miles from Edinburgh.
Count me in for the Sunday.
Regional Director for Scotland for Clan Cunningham International, and a Scottish Armiger.

There will likely be a party at the Caledonian Brewery on Thursday night. I may still be in Glasgow at the Genealogy Festival as there is supposed to be a party Thursday night there too.
Not sure what is happening Friday night.

What’s your itinerary?
Thought it would be interesting to learn what else the Rabble who are attending The Gathering are doing on their Scottish holiday.
Here’s my itinerary.
Before The Gathering (7/20-23), I will be in Pitlochry participating in the Clan Donnachaidh activities, including there Annual General Meeting. This will be my first time there. My maternal Grandmother was a Robertson.
I will be in Edinburgh, Friday through Sunday (7/24-26) participating in all the activities of The Gathering. I will be participating with the Clan MacCallum Malcolm Society. I anticipate meeting up with some of the Rabble then.
Monday, (7/27) I head for Inveraray in the Argyll where I will be met by XMarker Redshanks for the drive to Kilmartin. The Clan MacCallum Malcolm Society will hold their Annual General Meeting Tuesday at Chief Robin Malcolm’s ancestral home Duntrune Castle in Poltalloch.
Afterwards, Redshanks will be taking me on a twp day tour of some of the out of the way sights the tourists often miss. This will be my third visit to the Argyll. Judging by the photographs Redshanks posts on the forum I am in for a real treat.
Friday, I leave Scotland for Geneva, where I will be met by XMarker Ancienne Alliance. Robert has invited to his home in the French Alps. I’ll be with him and Lady Crystel for the weekend. I am looking forward to some great hiking in Alps. I cannot wait to see the master kilt maker’s handiwork up close and personal!
On Sunday, 8/2 I will return back to Virginia. That will be a whirlwind two weeks and a trip of a lifetime. Don’t worry. I will take lots of photos!

16-17 July in Dublin, Ireland. Probably one day touring the city and the second on a day trip. Not sure where - I'm leaving that decision to the wife.
18 July. Arrive in Edinburgh. Drive to Inverness. Sightseeing option along the way still be developed.
19 July. Culloden for me, golfing for the wife. Enjoying Inverness the rest of the time.
20 July. Ft William (West Highland Museum) and Glencoe.
21 July. A short hike in Glencoe in the morning, and drive to Hawick in the afternoon. Clan Elliot officer's dinner in Newcastleton.
22-23 July. Elliot Gathering in Newcastleton. Various activities planned, but hope to work in some time to meet with Cessna152towser.
24 July. Reiver's Trail and drive to Edinburgh.
25-26 July. Gathering 2009. Saturday spent at the Games at Holyrood (and meeting the Rabble in attendence), and Sunday doing a bit of catch-up sightseeing for those things I missed in 2006.
27 July. Fly home.
