A 'TANK' is defined as an eight-yard, wool, hand-sewn, traditional kilt. ie., "It's built like a tank." (coined by Jimmy Carbomb c.2005)
And yes - By general consensus of the rabble, a tank is made of at least 16 oz wool.

i have two kilts, one is a Lockhart modern tank, made by Matt Newsome, and the other is Graham of Mentieth, which I'm trying to sell. I'm also trying to scrounge up the funding for a 4-yard Carolina box, and then will need one in a tartan I'm designing, and I think that will be enough.
I know when to walk away.
