Gentlemen,
As a newcomer to the site I appreciate the time you are taking for those not used to wearing a “set of kit”. However, for the benefit of your readers the least obvious items in your pictures but the most neglected item of kit is footwear.
It’s the last thing a person will look at but their condition and choice speaks volumes about a man
Respect the kilt …polish your boots.

The first thing I look at is a man's shoes. They speak volumes.

Yes, there is an old saying about how do you tell if a fellow is wearing a $1000 suit... just look at his shoes.

I only wear shoes when I have to. I can, most often, be found in boots. More often than not, unpolished since I ride a motorcycle almost everywhere and polishing them would serve no purpose except to cover the bike in shoe polish....heheheh
Edit: Typo

I'm new to the site and am enjoying looking. Thanks for the selection of different ways to wear the kilt. Now I have to find so ways for older women to achieve a good look with appropriate Scottish wear.

Awesome thread for a kilted newbie - like me. Especially appropriate, in my case, because my first kilt is a Black Watch and it is easy for me to see the possibilities. Thanks for taking the time (albeit a couple years back) to provide this sampler.

I realise I'm posting on a thread that started years before I found X marks, but I just wanted to say this is one of my favorites. I especially like how the OPs are wearing very different tartans, one quite dark and the other rather bright. And this does nothing to affect the versatility of either kilt. Kudos to both of you.
