You could always try L.L. Bean, Lands End, etc.

I'm planning on getting a felt fedora, and I don't mean the kind that have a plastic brim covered with felt.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Here is my current hat. I bought this at Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City, Utah several years ago for $12.00 US. I didn't really expect it to last the trip, but it has held up well. I've replaced the original vinyl strap with teal paracord.

Was in the Bass Pro at Richmond this afternoon. They had a good hat, canvas brim and top with sturdy mesh between. Around $25 if I remember. I tried it on and found it comfortable at the moment. No idea how it would break in. Seems to split the difference between the Tilley and the Filson at a better "price point" than either.

Yeah, you have to pay for quality. Or the name?
Or maybe not.
I’d rather wear out three $25 hats than one $75 hat.

I just picked up one of these:

Haven't tried it with the kilt yet, though...

I wear a straw wide brim hat when working outdoors in the summer and a nice charcoal fedora in cooler weather
