Not really. Good ones are few and far between.

*shrug*..whatever. No strong opinion.
-
I've seen quite a few that I liked.
-
I think they're just great...really cool!

After I wrote my lady's response, I got off the couch, picked Barbossa up and held her at my crotch. I was told with a very straight face "I will divorce you."

50 votes... I had no idea there were 50 woman members, or did a few voters not read the instructions.

On the whole it appears that if one is wishing to impress the Lassies wearing one of these things one is not going to get very far.

As my SO is differently significant than others(she remains the mother of our son), I will not ask her opinion, nor will I vote for her. I have a mask badger, recycled from a Goodwill found stole, and even I think it falls into the it's a bit creepy fold. The head was formed into a rather vulpine shape and its eyes were referred to by one poster as being from a Furby. Had I the skills, I would reform the head and replace the eyes; and I may yet.

I really hated to "Absolutely not," but rules is rules, and my wife does not like them. At least she doesn't think so, but then she doesn't know stink about them.
I like them! Love the good ones that, like Squeaky said, look really good. Badgers are best, but I've seen some very nice raccoon, skunk, and even a wolverine. And like Squeaky--she must be a genious--no smiles or teeth!

What can I say? Taxidermy amuses me.
And you men that like them but your significant other doesn't: I would wager that seeing a sporran that meets my criteria could make several of those "Absolutely Not" women change their minds to "Well that one might be okay..."
--Chelsea McMurdo--
P.S. I have some more criteria to add:
* Typically say no to feet/claws. I haven't seen many that looked very good. The one that I did see that I really liked though was a badger with the feet on the sides framing the sporran instead of being in the front.
* If you're going to make one yourself, look for mount quality skins. Sure they're more expensive but their faces will have been skinned perfectly. Sometimes you can get lucky with mountain man hats.

I have a full face badger. Get lots of compliments, and a few who want to pet it. Get a lot of "what is it?" Not many badgers in Arkansas. Asked the Mrs. she said "it was pretty cool." So I voted that way for her.
I'd like to get a racoon also. Personnally, I think it is a good look and versital: from Casual to semi formal.

the ones I that I find amusing.. in my opinion, are the stuffed mounts.. they, for some reason remind me of teddy bears... i saw a few this weekend, in Arlington, Texas.. and I smiled.. thinking... another care bear down....LOL.
I do like the flat face mounts... like a badger with the feet used as drops... I would be interested in making an otter fur sporran, because I wear otter when I dance in the Native American powwow... and I like the look of a bobcat fur sporran... hmmm to get and wear a mountain lion fur sporran... no face mounts.. just the fur.....
