    So, what's a "Native American" then???? A person born in America, or a person of a specific racial genome??

    I guess it's whoever the PC police say it is.

    Correct me if I’m wrong but as I understand it, it is not a popular term used by the people for whom it was created and that there is a preference for being known by their tribal clan/group or nation or else generically as Indian – but not Red Indian.

    I once saw on TV a reference to a dog as a "Canine American"

    I prefer the Canadian term "First Nations".

    To prevent friction, I believe we should adopt the London name for Scottish/Scots:- Sweaties, which is shortened Cockney slang meaning sweaty socks = jocks, Scotsmen
