I wore it for the first time last week. I got an overwhelmingly positive response!

Not usually due to uniform regs but as I went in on a day off for a head shave in support of one of our officers starting chemo...
I'll not be lied to , stolen from or laid a hand upon. I do this to no man and I require the same in return.

"Hi Frank,
I apologize I meant to get back to you earlier. HR management did review the matter and they determined that the kilt would not fall within the [Company Name Redacted] dress code guidelines.
Thank you for your patience"
So it looks like it's a no-go. As I explained in another thread, the company I work for is about 80 years old and extremely conservative, despite switching to a casual dress code in the recent past.
Interestingly enough, women's skirts (whether approved or disapproved) aren't explicitly mentioned in the dress code and neither are kilts, but women are allowed to wear skirts. However, women are explicitly allowed to wear shorts, but men are explicitly denied that "privilege".

Sorry, Kalok. That's a bummer. ![Sad](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
I can understand allowing some women's skirts as they have a tradition in women's business suit attire. The shorts thing doesn't make any sense to me at all.
We have, among a dozen dress codes - I kid you not and won't bother explaining the rest of them, a "Basic Business Casual" that allows for Khaki style slacks but does not mention sex at all. I've seen women wear Capri slacks or skirts under that umbrella although they are not mentioned. Women just seem to have a lot more latitude and options than men.
I long for the rare "grunge day" where we can wear almost whatever we want. They are kilt days for me.
Today is a rare day for me, I wore my kilt to work to a sanctioned Halloween "party" this morning. Someone whispered to me "Any excuse to wear a kilt, eh?" I responded, but of course!

Yeah. I am wearing the kilt today too. Women can wear Capri pants too. Based on our dress code, men are limited to slacks, khakis, and jeans only. No shorts or anything. My kilt is longer than some of the skirts and shorts that I have seen the women wear to work.
I guess what surprises me the most is that we have a "casual dress code", but what that really means is that only the women get to dress casually. Our "casual dress code" says no t-shirts unless they are company branded t-shirts. That means that we are stuck with polo or button type shirts, which last time I checked was "business casual", not "casual". Women get to wear nice shirts, shorts, Capri pants, skirts, dresses, you name it. They can even wear sandals, but men have to wear close toe shoes.
It surprises me what passes for "gender equality" in the work place these days, which is shouldn't being 46 years old.

I always wear a kilt to work but only have a single photo as proof. My wife and I shoot weddings together and she snapped this while I wasn't looking. It's from April 6th this year, which of course was National Tartan Day.
