That's not true. Not all ghillies have laces that go up the ankle. Some are just open on top. Granted, in most of these photos, the men are wearing spats, but look for tongue-less shoes. Those are ghillies!

I have the same photo with the girls, they have shoes but no kilts just nice dresses. The other thing is the girls look clean, the boys appear to have been wrestling in the mud. But thats what we males do, right?
At least two of the boys on the far right are Lamonts. This area had lots of McLeans, Blacks, Campbells & McCallums but no other names identified.

Thanks for the info MaClef. I obviously don't know my Beatrice's from my Zara's ! As for the tartan it's funny that you rarely see 'The Royals' dressed in Royal Stewart tartan.
