I'm not Irish either, but, as I've pointed out in other threads, it was the color worn by Celts on the continent. This was noted as far back as Julius Caesar. So I take it as the pan-Celtic color.

As the son of a Dubliner, and a scholar of Yeats and Joyce, I'll be in saffron...

And as a lad with family from Donegal, I'll be in Black Watch and something green, unless my new McNeil of Barra Ancient arrives in time. In that case, St. Pats be damned, Scots to the fore...

And this shall be for music, when no one else is near; The fine song for singing, the rare song to hear; That only I remember, that only you admire; Of the broad road that stretches and the roadside fire. (RL Stevenson)

Aye, laddie...nothing better on a cold rainy day than being in KILT sitting next to the fire at McSorleys (with a single malt in hand)!

Seriously, according to Wunderground (the best weather site in the world), there's a 40% chance of light rain Sat. afternoon/evening with winds gusting from the NE at all of 9 miles an hour. Sounds like lovely Scottish weather to me!

I'm looking forward to meeting you all tomorrow! I have a feeling some crowds will be out no matter what the weather, but what the hell. Sounds like a fun time.

Sorry!
Not gonna make it.
Sick wee one at home, mommy first, kilt inspecting second.
If I get TLC coverage by around 6pm, I am gonna shoot for the Binghamton Kilt Night later.
Next time, ok?
(I may be in NYC tomorrow visiting by sister, let me know if anyone will still be around.)
