As of last night, Monday 11/3
I went by the hospital and spent an hour with Mike and Nancy. Mike is HUGELY better and is making extremely impressive strides in gaining mobility and control. His head looks a bit odd, as he's missing a rather large piece of his skull on one side, and he's got one rather lazy eye, but aside from that "Mike is back". We had a long conversation, and Mike was 90% himself. He' s lost a lot of weight, and moving around is hard, but he's coming back fast. According to Nancy, he could barely sit up on Sunday, but yesterday he got out of bed, and using his walker, he walked around for a while. The doctors are amazed. They're so impressed with his progress that they're going to put the big piece of Mikes cranium back really soon (like, this week) rather than waiting 3-4 weeks for further recovery, which is the usual thing.
Mike has been in the hospital for almost a month, now. Nancy visits him nearly every morning and evening, before and after work. Mike knows how blessed he is to have that woman, and I second that.
I *believe* that Mikes next (and hopefully last) surgery will be on Thursday. It would be GREAT if a number of Nor Cal X Markers could find a way to pay him a visit around 7:30 PM on Friday night. I will confirm the date/time of his surgery and get back to the board.

So glad to hear of his speedy recovery. However, it is a bit further than I care to drive, so I just add my continued prayers for his compleat recovery.

I'm so, so glad to hear that he's recovering so fast. That's wonderful news.
Give him and Nancy my best wishes, please.
