Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Thanks, Chuck! That is my friend, George who has returned to Glasgow. He is a first class piper. He was both a copper in Glasgow and Wash., DC. My outfit today had only two changes. The red flashes were Malcolm tartan and the wool hose were cotton. Mrs. Malcolm raised no dummy.

Quite a few "nice" and "love" your kilt comments, today. One that amused the most was I past a lady who was chatting on her cell phone and in her conversation not missing a beat she said, "love your kilt." ![Laughing](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
We all get the question when we are kilted' "What's the occassion for the kilt?" Last week it was the anniversary of the Repeal of the Act of Proscription. I would point to my tartan flashes. The funniest one last Sunday was one of my fellow associates, a lady came with a male, Pakinstani employee and she asked me; "so, what is the occassion for the kilt today?" I told them about the Repeal of the Act of the Proscription and she then commented to the other Associate, " I told you, Scottish, they are all crazy!"
Today, when I was asked the question, "why the kilt, today?" I replied, "it's international kilt day!"

Crazy ! I hope you agreed! It's the "sane" ones you gotta watchout for. My why, unless there is a kilt day, is "It's the first day of the rest of my life."

Right! The sane ones get you every time, because you are not expecting it.
Until you reach my age, and after a life of wounds you know who really to watch out for!

Apologies for the thread-jack Ern. That wasn't my intent.
I shall continue to mis-pronounce the word Khaki as I have always done. Others may pronounce it and spell it as they wish. There is obviously a vast difference between British and North American pronunciation and for this reason I should know better and not have brought it up. On reflection, my example of car-key pronounced with a American "R" is much wrongerer, in fact possibly the wrongist. although pronounced the English way, still sounds good to me...
I do like the example of "CARlifornia" though. I think I'll adopt that as my preferred pronunciation and when people try to correct me I can tell them they don't know Jack Cack!!...

The only person I've ever seen wearing a Kilt in Asda (our British WalMart) is me... Not that I work there.
