It's funny, I looked through this and had to laugh a little. At age 16 I've already done half of what P1M has detailed but instead of making beer, I made moonshine or Mountain dew for anyone that knows it by that moniker.(Yes Pepsi does produce a product that is named after a euphemism for moonshine.)
Now, don't get worried, it was for a science fair project. I actually did a nifty little experiment to find out which grain produced the greatest total amount of pure ethanol alcohol. It made for a worth-while thing to do with all the current talk of gasohol and it's "benefits". Still, how many people can say the have made moonshine before they were legally old enough to drink, or make it for their science fair project?
Still, it's good to know the processing for what i actually past the fermented mash if you don't plan on distilling.

Poutine? I thought that was the French Canadian dish consisting of fries (chips) with cheese curds and gravy on top. I know..sounds like an instant heart attack....but it's sooooo tasty!

poutine is definitely how one would spell that lovely quebecois dish!
the irish moonshine is most often spelled Poitín (notice the diacritic mark over the second letter i).
I have a small bottle of "commercial" poitín that my sister bought for me in Ireland last year that I keep forgetting I have and need to open.

A fellow homebrewer, a fellow poitin drinker . . . brewing in a kilt. How come I didn't find this forum sooner?

Pour1Malt,
Here's what happens if you let this hobby run wild...

I don't think it was the beer that made me wear a kilt -- I bought my first before I knew how to brew.
Love the homegrown hops, Pour1Malt! I've got some outside as well (though they're all cut down now...if you haven't cut your bines down yet, you could make a rustic wreath from them like this:
