Ahhhhhhhhh the Chrysler Cordoba, I can still hear the song in the background. I remember this only because its a MOPAR. At my house, its MOPAR or NOCAR.
Now...Khan didn't have a Bird of Prey. He took over the USS Reliant(a Miranda class Feddie ship) after he put those buggy things in Checkov and Terrell's ears.
Kirk ended up in the Bird of Prey in ST3:TSFS and ST4:TVH but crashed it into San Fran bay so he could release George & Gracie to save Earth. That is when the Klingon Ambassador said "There shall be no peace as long as Kirk Lives!!!"

A bit off topic for a pretty off topic thread...

And in my humble opinion the sleekest and most handsome of all the Federation Starships. I remember seeing the movie in the theater when it came out and though I was rooting for Kirk and co. I couldn't help but note how much more I liked The Reliant over the Enterprise. The wonderful theme music for Khan and the Reliant by James Horner added a sense of speed and danger to the sleek and compact ship.
To me Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan stands head and shoulders above all the other Star Trek movies. The rest are fun, but ultimately they are just "Star Trek Movies". There they sit in their own little sub genre of Science Fiction. Frankly I have seen most of them and don't really have a big desire to see them again. ST II: TWOK takes a series and does the neat trick of both expanding the characters to Mythic proportions and making them very real at the same time. The danger and costs of completing the mission have never been more real or more personal. Just writing about it makes me want to put it on my Netflix queue.
Unrelated Note: Apparently The Original Star Trek series is being rereleased on television with updated or enhanced special effects. I caught some of the new footage for one of my favorite episodes "The Doomsday Machine" and was taken aback at how wonderful it was. It looked just like how I imagined it in my head when I thought of the story as a kid. To whoever made this call at the studio, Bravo!
Cheers

yeah, I have seen the new redone stuff, it isn't bad. Although they are also cutting scenes to make them shorter . . . for ads or better flow, you be the judge.

OK, now the evidence that I am NOT a "trekkie" comes out to ALL.
I pretty much am interested in the Star Wars mythos in Sci Fi and that is about it. Otherwise, it is more history, sports, Batman (but not really ANY other comic book superhero stuff), and films.
