Isn't prom not until early spring? In the second semester? That give you plenty of time to get everything sorted out and make sure its ok, right?

I am not short, and as I said, black is my color.
As to the prom being in early spring, I believe so. Good inititive though. Get on things as early as possible. Gives more time if he wants to fight it. Dress codes for guys are writted to keep shorts from bing to short. However, since he could wear hose, making it so only the knees show, the potential for him to go before the school board and fight for the right to wear traditional cloathing is much better since he has time.

And, if I was to wear a kilt, would a Stillwater Heavyweight in Blackwatch tartan be appropriate. I have a causual kilt, and no formal accessories, so I would probably rent the rest of the outfit.
Kilted Hiker,
Your Stillwater Heavyweight in Blackwatch will be fine for your prom! I see that you are already gaining some great advice on how to accessorize it for a formal event. I would suggest, unless you are planning to go "stag" to the prom, that you discuss your plans with your date for the evening. She may wish to choose a tartan accessory for her gown. In which case, the Prom King and Queen may be a lad and a lassie.
Have a grand time!

Not sure how teh red flahers would look. It really depends on if you ant to pull the green out, or subdue it. Subdue it, you want black, pull it out, green. (I suggest green). Flashers colors, black, green, tartan. Again, not sure on the red. It aso depends on if it is a brigt red, or a darker red.

I think it's pretty hard to go wrong with red flashes (or better yet, garter ties)

Yessir! Red and saffron are pretty much my go-to colors.

And wear nice shoes. Don't turn the kilt into a clown outfit. Please.
I wish I could have worn a kilt to my prom. But I would have outclassed my date by a long way. But then, .....Oh well, I'll leave that one alone.
