I don't get to wear my kilt to work except on rare special occasions but if I'm not working I'm in a kilt. (strange since you'd think Harley people would be more accepting of eccentricity!) Been that way for years now. Yes, outside of going to the games I'm usually the only one around in a kilt, but it doesn't stop me. I wear my kilt to church and to funerals because the kilt is the best clothing I have and those events demand we be the best we can be. I don't intend to attract attention but anyone who knows me knows I'll be in a kilt and most of them don't pay anymore attention to me than they would to what kind of suit someone else might be wearing. Anyone who is distracted by my wearing a kilt didn't have their focus in the right place to begin with. Casual, formal or in between I'm in a kilt.

I am kilted at Scottish functions like SCD class and occasionally the only male present but more usually several kilts are present, this is 2 or 3 times a week at the classes I go to. More kilts get worn in winter. At dancing socials 30 in kilts is usual, at week long dancing schools about 90, Highland Gatherings invariably have hundreds four or five times a year locally, at my old school functions up to 80 may be there, at black tie functions I may be the only one but it depends on the occasion. At Scottish based funerals several kilts may be seen. Last week at a country agricultural show there were 2, I was the only one on a Caribbean voyage with two formal nights and 6000 passengers yet a girl piper in full Scottish attire piped all on board at each port and entertained each night. I wear a kilt 3 to 4 times a week and sometimes do to Rotary meetings restaurants and pubs and the like to save getting changed, so invariably I am the only one there kilted.
