I am not known by kilts...
I am known for knitting, constantly.
For my rubber wellies with skulls and crossed swords on them.
for hats of many types and eras.
for my reenacting.
For my practice of telling my friends I love them on a extremely frequent basis.
for my long hair that is a wee bit outta control.
I used to be known for other things, but these are the most valid at the moment.

Hmmm, nothing regularly, though those that know me know that I'm a maniac sailor. I'm also a musician, but that doesn't come up a lot.

I am known for several "eccentricities." I would have mentioned my guitar collection, but I can't quite compete with Demobud!
I have lots of hats and wear them often. Fedoras (both dressy and Indian Jones-like; I have 5 or 6), a homburg, several cowboy hats (big brimmed), a plethora of balmorals and regimental tams, a couple of driving hats, and a few berets that I haven't worn out yet.
I also have quite a collection of walking sticks which come in very handy when I hike or have either a gout or lower-back attack. (One has a "tippler" vial for hiding a little scotch.) I just love my canes and longer sticks. I even have a proper cromach.
I am also known as the "scotch drinker," and the local bar wenches know what to pour when I enter. Even my friends stock scotch in their home bars for my enjoyment.
I am also the weird Methodist clergyman who will cry with you, handle babies and old ladies with love and care, kick a butt when required, and take a drink on occassion (like on days that end in Y). The Marine pastor is quite an anomaly to some, and my rough manner mixed with my strong faith is confusing to a few folks. But they all know who to call on in a pinch. And who can watch their backs.
I also tend to overdress; never underdress. I am meticulous in my clothing choices (usually), and I do not willingly go out looking bad. (If you aren't blessed with good looks, it pays to do the best you can with what you have.)
Oh, yeah, and I am "The guy in the kilt" that you don't want to mess with since I have many saucy come-backs for stupid comments, and I tend to use them all. Everyone looks for me on St. Patty's Day, Burns Supper, and other various occassions.
Finally, I am also known (of late) as the grandfather who will whip out the pix on a moment's notice and brag about his beautiful (and smart and talented and above-average, etc. ad nauseum) granddaughter. I am a real sucker for her.

Oh, boy. Me too. Actually, it's band-aids, asprin, alcohol wipes, steri-strips and dental floss. Yeah, it's a big wallet.

Again, ditto. I brew my own beer and I'm also a gunsmith. Although I'm working in a different field now, I work on firearms regularly still, whether I want to or not...
I got a fantastic lager going right now...
I'm also known for my backpacks and the multitude of items I carry. I always prepare for the worst and expect the best. My pack is ever-present wherever I go. Containing many useful items and tools. Water, power bars, coat, first aid kit, coupla knives, para-cord, duct tape, zip-ties, extra ammo for whatever I'm carrying that day, swiss army knife, survival kit, flashlight and batteries, gps, compasses, thumb drive with important info, cell phone, sunscreen, bonnie hat, lip stuff, hand sanitizer, socks, blah, blah, blah....
Paranoid? No. Quite the opposite in fact. I know I'm prepared for most anything. And if I'm not, I'll figure it out on the fly...
Also for my bagpipes and two West Highland White Terriers (Westies) Mac and Nic, who are keeping my lap warm as I write this.
I'm also a fanatical scuba diver. Talk to me for 1 minute and you'll know that about me...
Heck, I'm as eccentric as I want to be. But then, aren't we all in our own little way?
Cheers,
T.

Wow, this is still going? I'm know as the disappearing guy. I take unannounced trips and I don't always return when I'm supposed to. My family, colleagues, and friends know that I might be missing for a while. I never have a destination or preferred transportation. I just go and do whatever I feel. I do call and tell people that I've escaped and to "expect me when you see me".

No, it's not. You're just late on your response.

What I do for a living and as a hobby is largely proscribed on this forum.
This is a bit of a hint.
Most folks think I have access to this. I do not.... but it is close.

I'm also known for saying mindless and stupid things like what I'm saying right now... Oh, why did I say that!
