I then had to go to a doctors office to drop off some posters for the event. that's when it finally happened. An older gentleman said he like my skirt. He wasn't being mean, I think he just couldn't come up with the word KILT. We exchanged pleasantries and then he asked why I was wearing it. I told him about the event and he got serious, almost to the point of a tear, and said his sister is having brain surgery tomorrow morning and he thanked me for doing the walk. That made the busy day well worth it.

That's a very cool conversation you got to have. You made that guy's day.

Nothing exciting to report for kilted Friday, but it was a beautiful day here today, so it was a burgundy company polo shirt and charcoal hose with the kilt. I even managed to get off early to start my weekend. Hope all of you have a great weekend!

Kilted Fridays Adventures
Nothing happening here either. Khaki shirt, olive green 511 TDK and charcoal hose was my choice for Kilted Friday. Went to the AT&T Store, BBQ restaurant, clothing store (for shorts) and Walmart. Only one comment from a gentlemen who asked "Whats the occasion, tartan or event." Told him it was just because it was Friday. Said he liked it and knew someone how went hiking in a kilt and was thinking of getting one for when he went hiking. Would be comfortable and cool.

My kilted friday consisted of changing my boiler in a 5.11 kilt.

My second son Christopher will be graduating tomorrow with his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nevada. Since school colors are blue and silver I will be wearing my Hamilton gray kilt with navy blue shirt and gray tie. My son will be wear a Ramsey blue kilt. Pictures to follow after tomorrows ceremony.

I recently got a very old kilt, sporran, sporran strap, pair of hose, tartan tie, and flashes off eBay for a bargain. The 70+ year old Campbell Ancient kilt has been mended, pressed, and made its debut at work today with the sporran and strap that I got with it.

Looking good, gentlemen!
Isaac, you always seem to get great deals.
Rich, the pride is very evident on both of your faces. Congrats!
Another nice Kilted Friday here, but nothing worthy of a photo.

My friend and I put together a video for the UT Kilts website showcasing a bit of german longsword fencing, while kilted, of course. We wore our UT Kilts. This was my outfit through the video:
That's the UT Kilt Dark Gray Standard I utility kilt. It's a bit snug on me, this being only the first real week of consistent warm weather in central New York. I admit to shamelessly sharing this particular frame of the video because it looks cool, though it was unintentional as I turned around after a bout.
I may share the rest of the video here at some later point. It turned out pretty good.

Reason: Uploaded a larger version of the originally attached image. The first one was little more than a thumbnail.

I would be interested in seeing the movements of the you and your sparing partner's kilts in action. I find the movement of kilts in highland game videos interesting as well. Where the human form seldom changes, the clothing becomes unique with individual style and movement of the participate. I'm not sure which forum (weapons, media) you would post into, but I will keep an eye out if you do.
