    Unknown Tartan

I'm considering buying this kilt, but don't recognize the tartan and the owner doesn't seem to know. Can anyone out there help?

It looks like the Freedom tartan and the maker is the Gold Brothers I believe.

Don't kow the tartan, but machine sewn and no waist band - synthetic for sure, I'm guessing the price is under $70?
Convener, Georgia Chapter, House of Gordon (Boss H.O.G.)

Yes, I'm continuing to lose inches and need a stop gap.

That makes sense - it says "designed in Scotland."

"designed" in Scotland. NOT made is Scotland. BIG difference.

I believe that's what he was getting at. There have been many posts about the Gold Brothers' practice of using "designed in Scotland" lingo...

Looks like the Freedom Tartan to me.

That kilt on Ebay looks machine sewn.

It is indeed the freedom tartan. These usually are sold by the Gold Brothers but a few other makers have got into the Freedom tartan as well since it mimics the Isle of Skye a wee bit without breaching copyright.

It's a nice tartan and the kilts are actually fairly well constructed. It'll last you a while.

One of my favourite and longest lasting kilts is a Gold Brother's one.
