Kilts pins: Where to place them?
I realize this has no doubt been discussed before, but where do you put your kilt pin? have heard a few differing opinions as to where it should be.
After all...don't want a citation from the Kilt Police.

It's not called a Kilt Pin just for laughs. It goes on your Kilt.
Somewhere near the front because putting it on the back can cause surprises when you sit down.
But if your really worried about the Kilt Kops here is an excerpt from the handbook.
"The Kilt Pin shall be placed 3.056 X 1023 angstroms inboard from the first yarn of the edge of the apron that is a contrasting color from the wearers hose color. The Vertical dimension shall be 2.036 times the horizontal dimension unless the Vertical dimension falls on a leap year."

I wear the kilt because: Swish + Swagger = Swoon.

I usually go three fingers in from the edge, and a hand's width up from the hem. Failing that, follow the directions given above. Main thing is not to pin it through both layers of the kilt.

Not so much pertaining to location as to orientation, but hopefully still within the scope of this thread...

Pin pointing down-- that way if it pops open it won't fall off. (My kilt pin is silver, so I have a vested interest in keeping it.)

Additionally, you can wear the kilt pin at a 45 degree angle. I think Riverkilt started this and many of us really like the way it looks.

bottom right corner, pinned only to the outer apron. make sure it looks cool by standing in front of a full-length mirror. if uncool, adjust. if unsure, seek advice from female
