Bad publicity!
Ahh! Recently there was an article in the local paper about an altercation where a man claims he was assaulted by a man in a kilt http://www.fallsnewspress.com/news/article/2133901
Several of my friends have asked if this was me, because I am the kilt guy.
I wasn't involved in any way. I have seen more kilt wearing as the years have go on, and been happy about it. But I worry about some peoples behavior and the negative connotation that can stigmatize those of us that wear the kilt with dignity and respect. I have had a few rare occasions where a rude or inebriated guy will sometimes try to anger me, and maybe that it what happened in this situation, however I have been able to be the bigger man and not disrespect myself. If you wear a kilt you WILL get stares and looks. You WILL get the occasional snide remarks. But the vast majority of my experiences have been positive. I just don't like being associated with events such as this! (end of rant)
