Hi guys!
I know there's been a halloween thread set up but I'm looking for some extra advice on having a kilt as part of a halloween costume.
Basically I was thinking of going as some sort of Scottish regimental officer or perhaps a famous kilted Scot (obviously to be historically accurate - not William Wallace).

If going as something regimental; at the moment I already have:
a Campbell Ancient tartan kilt - which is the old Black watch tartan
a black glengarry (white & red diced) OR a plain black balmoral
green & white diced hose (I realise red & white are more regular, but these should be ok, right?)
a friend who says he can get me a black regimental doublet for pretty cheap!
a non-firing air rifle
(I realise I shouldnt run about with a fake gun but I'm going to my girlfriend's aunt's house and will be getting a lift there and back in a car)
Ghillie brogues OR brogues that don't tie up the leg.

I think I'd also need:
a white belt & relevant regimental buckle
horse hair sporran (although they're pretty expensive!)
red hackle

Optional bits & pieces:
parade sword
spats

I'm looking for advice on other cost-effective roles/people that I could dress up as that people may identify easily... or perhaps more information/advice on my current ideas.
Everything doesnt have to be historically accurate - as I'm on a tight budget - but it would be nice to look the part!

tapadh leibh!
