For any newbies who are nervous about wearing a kilt in public...

I just put my kilt-wearing to the ultimate test.

Karen and I just got back to our hotel in Las Vegas after spending the day at the Laughlin River Run bike rally. Harleys everywhere you looked, and hundreds of vendor tents set up in the various casino parking lots.

I was wearing a black Original Utilikilt and a black t-shirt. For the most part I didn't notice any reaction from people, but I did get a few "wow, cool kilt" comments.

So, if I can wear a kilt around a bunch of bikers, you newbies to kilting shouldn't worry about wearing yours in public.

Ah, but can you imagine the class action lawsuit that would ensue? All those poor, blind bikers who wouldn't have a way home for several days while they waited for their retinas to recover...

What we really need to help bridge the gap is a patch for the apron that says "If you can read this, the sporran fell off."

Perhaps another could read, "If you can read this, I'd be hoping I'm your date. ....... Ma'am.":butt:
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

It's not the "different" people you have to be worried about wearing your kilt around...it's everybody who thinks we should all look the same.

heh...if you want the ultimate test, wear a saffron kilt into a horde of teenagers without their parents in sight. That will put most any kiltie's mettle to the test!
