paintball & airsoft..............and MOD request
hey,
I'm wondering how many kilties play either paintball and/or airsoft? If you were wondering what airsoft was, it's a military simulation game that involves markers that look like real modern military weapons.
If you play it, or want to know about it, please PM me. Don't post directly here in the thread.
Since talking about these sports will involve the talk of guns, I'm hoping the mods will lock this thread right away.

Paintball and airsoft markers are "guns" the same way plastic cutlery is a knife.

I see no problems with a discussion about kilted paintball. The only thing I would worry about is ruining a kilt!

Cloves, you're scaring me... I'm afraid of you
because I think you would probably hurt me. That being said, I can't do any of that paint ball stuff, but when I was younger and able to do that type of stuff, we used bottle rockets, prickly pears, rocks, and other things for that type of activity. Hope you have fun.

Started playing paintball last year. Will eventually play kilted but will have to get padded shorts underneath for modesty and well... protection. Paintballs traveling at 300 feet per second would seriously damage the dangly bits. And this from a supporter for gun control, go figure !

Nahhhhhh Ted, I wouldn't hurt ya!
I'm finding that despite the "realism" of the markers. Airsoft players are alot less "hardcore" than I expected. Where paintballs leave a visible mark of paint when they hit you. Airsoft pellets just drop to the ground so it's strictly on the honor system that you call yourself out when hit. There's no tolerance for cheating or engaging in unsafe behavior when palying these sports, so all of the players i've encountered thus far are real stand up kinda people.

Grant,
Do you play regularly? What about now in the winter? We don't have an indoor field for paintball, but we do have an old warehouse we play airsoft in.

I have a group of guys at work that I often lead into battle. I get shot in the back a lot. We try to get out as often as possible but with shift workers and overtime it's a hassle getting 20 guys together. I started last April and every shot I took broke the skin, it was probably 10 - 15C, I've still got a couple of scars . An indoor field just opened up. We've yet to try it but just the same I prefer woodsball, better tactics involved. Airsoft? Now I understand that hurts! I prefer big balls that give instead of little plastic pellets. Oh get your minds out of the gutter, Rabble !
