I found a new kilt maker, I think?

I was looking of kilts on ebay today and found this new kilt maker. There stuff looks ok kinda like utilikilt with out the price tag..

So take a look and please let me know what you think.

Curious though, appears to be advising sales tax to all sales. Generally in the US (and no guarantee this is a US site, just making a guess with the phrasing within the site), sales taxes are state based and not a universal amount. Yes there are exceptions and I am by no means a sales tax expert, but it made me go Hrm.

If I were interested though, nothing an email to them wouldn't help clarify. I am not, but...ask questions!

well from experience.. you get what you pay for...I like an inexpensive kilt... but I feel if I want a Cargo type kilt.. I could get a Freedom Kilt made to measure, and from a truely reliable kiltmaker with a proven history.. and probably pay double what they are offering but made the way I want.. but its still the same price or cheaper than a utilikilt.

I couldn't agree with you more. You do get what you pay for. There are no deals out there. If it's too good to be true, it's not true!

Serena at Kiltthis is a local Minneapolis craftsperson who has made kilts for herself and friends. She now is making a few for the rabble for Irish and Scottish fairs as well as Renaissance Fairs. It is a twist on a cargo kilt. I should have mine (serial #2) in duckcloth in a couple of days. I will post pictures. I'm not expecting a perfect fit since I have a custom body, but am keeping the local craftspeople busy and the money flowing. Right price for a new kilt.

You can have any two of price, quality, or service.

Do yourself a favor and trust the reputation of the kiltmakers validated by the men on this board.

Over the years I've seen too many men order and pay for a kilt that never arrived - or arrived with extreme delays - or not as ordered.

Do yourself a favor and stick with trusted kiltmakers...

Hey Guys, let's give the lady a chance. Everyone has to start somewhere. The only way to tell what the product and service are like is for someone to buy one and post a review here.

At any rate, she deserves the same welcome and benefit of the doubt as we have given everyone else.

My bad - I don't recall seeing ChubRock's post even though it was an hour and half earlier. My post was made without conscious knowledge of his post and certainly not meant to cast any doubts on Serena or her kiltmaking skills.

My post reflects my fear of ebay without seeing ChubRock's post.

ChubRock's post is exactly the kind of good information we share that is so valuable.

Look forward to hearing a review of Serena's work.
