New Kilt Maker. - now online
Hi all,
I was just referred to this site and have found browsing the forums to be so much awesome information. I started an on-demand kilt business about 6 months ago and have recently opened a website.... AltKilt.com. I would love feedback because I still feel like I am flying a bit blind to things
Thanks! I am enjoying this site so much....

Welcome to the neighborhood Jeanie
A couple of things I'd like to see in a utility style kilt (other than me ) are,
No Snaps on the apron, Since you're already using nylon webbing, you could make straps out of that.
More, Narrower Pleats
Wider apron
Hidden slash pockets
Best of luck!

Another welcome aboard! Be careful what you ask for of this group, your going to get more feedback than you might want.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

My suggestion is that for your children's kilts you should use velcro and a fairly substantial hem. Snaps lock them into one size, and for $50 it should grow a little with them.

from the Scottish Borders.
I had a look at your website earlier today. I liked the denim kilt though with the narrow front apron it does look rather similar to the denim Union Kilt which I have already. These narrow front aprons won't impress the traditionalists though I find them very practical for sitting as the overlaps fall over opposite legs giving the impression of longish shorts when sitting.
