    Kilted w/beret

On a hat search recently (I love hats), I found a very cool blog by a guy in New Zealand who is a beret freak. Loved his blog, so I bought my wife and I a beret from him. They arrived last week and they are indeed VERY nice! So, when it's cool enough, I'll be oot and aboot kilted w/beret. Anyone else here ever worn a beret while kilted?

I think it's part amusing and part amazing that on the internet there's a niche to be found for everyone.

    And here we are.

    Regards,

I agree, the internet has a niche for everyone. But because I'm not of the "traditional" school of kilt I posted for 2 reasons:

    1) I'm wondering if anyone wears a beret while kilted

    2) To give kudos to Dann the writer/beret freak who lives in New Zealand who seems a very cool guy, and who provides outstanding service and a VERY nice product for a reasonable price.

Jamie's hat collection must rival Hamish's Kilt Kollection.

I suspect he's a moderator of a hat website on the side.

At risk of throwing the thread off on a tangent about what is "traditional" headwear, I know that a beret is not traditional highland headwear, but since I'm not a big fan of toories, I personally prefer the look of a beret (or caubeen) to the balmoral or glengarry for casual wear. For a dressier affair, I think it would be best to stick to convention and would go with the balmoral, toories be damned! (Glengarries would be another perfectly fine choice, of course, but not for me.)

This would just be my personal preference, and that said, I'm generally not big on headwear anyway....
