What's your favorite ice cream topping?

I jusr made the biggest ice cream sundae that I've had since I was twelve. I just skipped dinner and went straight to desert. I love putting candied pineapple on top of my sundaes, but I'm out. So, I had hot fudge and Lays BBQ potato chips. Yum! Just curious, what are your favorite ice cream toppings?

Well, I do not know about my favorite topping (besides the usual hot fudge and chocholate chips), but the best ice cream I've ever had is Graeter's

Being based in Cincinnati, there's a Graeter's here in just about every neighborhood. It's almost sacrilege to say, but I prefer another Cincinnati brand over Graeter's: United Dairy Farmers (UDF) - and they are just as accessible. Thomas Sweet's is as good as any I've ever had, but there are none here.

I haven't had ice cream with toppings for a very long while that I can recall, but growing up I always liked butterscotch on vanilla or marshmallow Fluff that was thinned with a little water to make a thick syrup to pour over chocolate. Crushed Butterfingers are pretty good, too.

    Regards,
    Rex.

I live two blocks from the Ice Cream rated by National Geographic as the third best in the world. Rons Twentieth Century Bowling and Ice Cream. All are made daily by hand. The best topping for his creations is my tongue. YUM.

I just got a terrific book on ice cream making. It's called Making Artisan Gelato by Torrance Kopfer. It's true that the recipes are technically gelato, but they are all made as custards. The best thing about the book is that it uses no flavor extracts or anything like that. The pistachio gelato is made with actual pistachios (and it's amazing.) I haven't made all the recipes yet, but I'm working on it.

Personally, I prefer to use the ice cream (usually plain old vanilla) as the topping, and a nice hot slice of fresh apple pie on the bottom. So I guess ice cream is my favorite topping!
