Clan Gordon goes for ice cream....

I think the only time I wasn't wearing a kilt today was when I was cleaning my pool and lounging outside catching some rays. Other than that, it was a perfect day to don my family tartan along with the lad and lass...

The mini-kilt looks great on him. I'm gonna need to take in some of his sporran chain though to get it to fit him, so until then, it's sans-sporran....

Kids wanted Marble Slab, so we went and got some ice cream, a couple of weird looks and a nice gentlemen who asked if we had just gotten back from some Highland Games or something. I wished we had, but I just said "no, it's just a nice day to wear a kilt"...

Lucky, my son doesn't want a Gordon, the closest he has is his BW, though I think he prefers his Irish National.

Glad to see at least somebody got their kid into a Gordon. Is that a SWK? I had a time getting my son's sporran strap just right.

I'm not sure whether my son is even aware of what he has on . All he knows is he sorta looks like Dad so he's down with anything. It's a kid's thrifty from SWK and wears pretty well on him. And like I mentioned, I'm going to have to shorten his sporran chain some so he can wear. Now, if I could just find him a tiny kilt belt, he'd be complete!

Looks like the future of the House of Gordon is secure.

    Great pics cousin.

"All he knows is he sorta looks like Dad so he's down with anything."

    Cherish these times.

When my oldest son was 8, we were walking from the car to the door at WalMart. I reached down to hold his hand just because I wanted to. I asked if it was okay with him, and he said, "Sure, why wouldn't it be?" I told him that, believe it or not, one day, he'd be too old to want to hold my hand. His sincere, childlike reply made me cry right there next to the cart corral: "Dad, I'll never be too old to hold your hand."

Fast-forward: he'll be 17 in three weeks and will one day be a Norwegian death metal drumming god. It is a rare event when he allows himself to be seen in public with his old man.

    Like I said,...
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

    I do...every minute of it.

And just out of curiosity, has your son chosen his new single "metal name" yet that ends with an "-azoth" of some sort. Just be glad he's into death metal as opposed to black metal or you may be footing the bill on corpse paint!

I have a 9 year old daughter who's still my princess and will give me the time of day so I'm still pretty lucky on all fronts. I'm taking her to her first Korn concert on Tuesday and just like the lead singer (whom she's madly in love with) I may be kilted as well.
