Houston Highland Games
Texas is a BIG state, and we do things big in Texas. The Houston Highland Games will be held at the Houston Farm and Ranch club, 1 Abercrombie Drive
Houston, Texas 77084, on May 21-22.
There will be celtic music, dance competitions, Scottish Clans, education, heavy athletics for men and women, and pipe and drum band competitions.
Come to Houston and have a kilted good time.
You can find me at the Clan Keith tent, so come by and say hi.

I heard today that the games have been cancelled due to lack of sponsoship.can anyone substantiate this?. What a huge shock this morning for this kind of news. I've been taking bagpipe lessons from the bayou city pipes and drums since may last year and was hoping to be initiated into the band in time for this.

The HHGA Board approved canceling the May 2011 Games/Festival at its January 12th meeting. It seems this action was taken primarily due to an inability to populate key committee positions, and line up corporate funding in time. They are still planning to have the games in 2012 though.

Is the band going to the Texas Scottish Festival in Arlington on the first weekend in June?

In place of that big hole that the non-games will create, I suggest a whiz-bang Kilt Night Out that Saturday that the games won't be.
