Visions of Livingston and Mudd showing up to work kilted on the same day celebrating a Scottish holiday for insurance....

Gotta tell ya, been my experience that HR people embrace diversity and will welcome kilts....

Yup, I work in that big satellite dish in the north. I’m one of the few (and the proud) that have survived both spin-offs and too many layoffs.

So, you say you’ve gone in Kilted a couple of times. Did someone, then, call you in and tell you to stop? That seems kind of orwellian.

    Livingston and Mudd,

Based on my own experiences, and I am in mid to senior management, I would encourage contacting HR and trying to get buy-in before plunging in. You can go either way, and I actually am a fan of "it's easier to ask forgiveness than ask permission", but when you throw the cultural diversity and gender equality (skirts for ladies and kilts for men) you have a pretty solid case. In my case, I did "just wear it" but only after contacting HR and on a day where HR could let it go. I did not wear it the first day with HR's approval, but have worn it every day to work since then and love it. I actually have some concerns with this coming Wednesday, but that is because the high is forecast for 35, with a low of 25! Brrrrr!

Anyway, I know one of your companies, as I have a High Psychic potential. I could have been a medium.. (rare pork roast, that is!) I think that the financial institution I work for is slightly larger and one of the most Highly Sought after Banking Corporations! Now, we do have the international ownerwhip angle to help out, but the division I work for was a solely US based corporation until it was purchased 2 years ago.
