New from Colorado
OK, I've had the kilt for over a year now but just worn for the some of the games here in CO. Time to start wearing it more often. I keep pushing at work but the darn dress code says NO. Can't understand that in a cube farm. Guess I'll just have to change when I get home. Just have the one for now, a traditional in Livingston tartan, but will be adding more (when the VP of finances allows :-? )

Welcome!
Lumbergh: "Greg. Hhhhow's it going? Yeah, I'm gonna have to go ahead and ask you to wear pants to work. So, if you could just go ahead and leave that kilt at home, that'd be great. Thanks."

Livingston, Welcome!! Best source on the net for information about kilt wearing. As for kilts in the office, check out this thread. Also, get an official copy of your company's dress code, not just what you think it is. If the dress code allows skirts for women, which most do unless their is a safety reason, then it would be very difficult for them to legally stop you from wearing a kilt. Now, if you work in a smaller company, you might get more intimidation than you feel is worth taking, but in a company of any size, HR is going to be very leery of preventing you from wearing one, especially if you work it from the cultural heritage angle. PM me if you have any questions or want to discuss my own experiences. Riverkilt could give you feedback for a smaller organization, and I think it is closer to public sector than where I work.
