The pleats might look weird because it looks as though they have been lit from one side using electric light to try to emphasise the folds.
I having met a few people who have tried to learn guitar on a cheap old or simply useless instrument just because their parents had the idea that is somehow wasn't cruel to buy them one that was actually unplayable, I can only back up the advice already given, to the hilt.
The sound of bag pipes sometimes heats my blood and gives me inclinations to go out and do battle.
Good sounds make me want to go and kill the players enemies, bad make me want to seek out the player and make sure they never play again. As I can hear rather further up into the shrills and harmonics than the average (I can hear most bats) over blown reed instruments are excruciatingly painful.

Thanks,

...actually, there might be some collectors out there right now who would pay a handsome buck for that Silvertone...some guys love to collect the old "crap" guitars like Teiscos and Del Rays....

So would I, but sadly my mom sold the amp and the guitar while I was in the service and she was proud to announce that she got a whole $25 for both. Now you have to admit that was back in 68 and the dollar was worth More ... and both of my parents are alive.
Oh well, water under the bridge and now I have One guitar, one base,15 harmonicas, one ceadar native american flute, 2 native drums, one bongo, 2 amps, one Alto Recorder and thinking about getting a chanter.
Where does the time go???

$10 shipping from NY to UT? Sounds a little steep.

There's some kind of USPS Priority set price deal that's about $10...maybe that's how they ship.
Let's hope that they got hip and expanded their tartan selection if they're getting a fresh shipment....they took a flyer on this kilt thing and are probably suprised at the response...and grateful, no doubt, to the amount of discussion they've gotten on Xmarks.
