As an erstwhile handweaver I'd be interested to know who has a kilt/plaid made from handwoven material and if so by whom? Show us your pics.

Clan Chattan woven as a gift to me by the late Jamie Scarlett 30+ years ago of wool from the Moy estate dyed by Jamie's wife, Meta, of plants gathered by her in Strathdearn.

Incredible! I think I'd be so worried about ruining such a fabulous work of art that I'd have it framed (in bullet-proof glass)!

I find it simply amazing that you can produce such beautiful colours from vegetable dyes! It sort of puts the "ancient" "vegetable dye inspired" colours of the modern manufacturers to shame.

Mull tartan, hand woven by Marjorie Logie Warren of Thistle Studio (Lake Junaluska, NC).

Picture was taken a couple of years ago. My son, Alister, whom I am holding in the pic, just celebrated his third birthday a couple of days ago.

The kilt is a four yard box pleated kilt, though I have an additional yard of cloth tucked away, so I'm considering remaking this one as a five yard knife pleat.
