Apron Overlap, he wants it on the left. Help!

I recall a pic of a Scottish lord, probably c1949 who was wearing a cut down saxon houndstooth jacket and a kilt with reversed aprons. I believe Jock Scot (and forgive me if my memory is shoddy) saying that when a kilt's apron was damaged they would sometimes be reversed.

Yes indeed, in my youth it was not uncommon to have this done to add extra years to a fine kilt. I can't say that I have noticed one like that recently. I honestly believe that many of you are overthinking all this and it really is not a big deal to anyone other than to the customer.
