Here is why we need this new forum:
Under the old rule, as written, this image was proscribed.

Why? Because of the rifle in the chief's hand. This is an engraving from 1831.
If we are going to properly discuss the historical outfit of the highlander, then, for the time period when firearms became available, we have to include the historical firearms. The pistols, the long guns, the muskets, the swords are all weapons, and proscribed under the old rule.

As the color guard are carrying carbines. Yet, no one could argue these gentlemen (S.A.M.S) members are dressed in the uniform of their group, which obviously includes the kilt and other accoutrements of Highland dress. No one can say these gentlemen are doing anything but showing honor to the kilt and to the colors they carry.
Talking about the morality of the ownership of firearms or other weapons, the use of weapons, or the use of the outfit to conceal a weapon are, and should be, outside the rule.
Talking about the appropriate use of weapons as PART OF THE OUTFIT should be on this forum, under neat and clean rules.
