4 yd. Kilt in fashion history
I have read a lot on the evolution of the kilt and very much enjoy this history. Most texts explain when the new styles begin or are first seen, but rarely have I read when the old styles truly become "historic" and not seen.
SO, does anyone know when the 4 yd. boxpleat first "went out of style," and would no longer have been seen? I am quite aware that they are coming back in vogue, at least among some folks, but I am wondering when in the late 19th century (or even EARLY 20th century) this would have occurred.
Thanks,
Isaac
