The pleats might look weird because it looks as though they have been lit from one side using electric light to try to emphasise the folds.
I having met a few people who have tried to learn guitar on a cheap old or simply useless instrument just because their parents had the idea that is somehow wasn't cruel to buy them one that was actually unplayable, I can only back up the advice already given, to the hilt.
The sound of bag pipes sometimes heats my blood and gives me inclinations to go out and do battle.
Good sounds make me want to go and kill the players enemies, bad make me want to seek out the player and make sure they never play again. As I can hear rather further up into the shrills and harmonics than the average (I can hear most bats) over blown reed instruments are excruciatingly painful.
