Over the holiday's my Wife and I had a chance to have a very productive discussion about each of our views on kilt wearing. Unfortunately it took an argument to help us have that discussion, but thankfully we had that argument.

The significance of the kilt is engrained in me from my childhood because of the value placed on heritage and family pride. After trying my first kilt , I added comfort to the list of reasons. These are sentiments that I simply assumed everyone would appreciate or understand but that is not the case. My Wife did not have such a instinctive fondness for Scottish dress and was caught by surprise by me wanting to wear the kilt as modern daily clothing.

Without going into all the details of the past year and a half, I'd like to take a chance to tell my Wife, I appreciate how far you have come since I sprung this whole thing on you. If you felt your opinion didn't matter to me, I'm sorry for that. It does. I only hoped your opinion would match mine. Maybe. One day. I can wait. I love you.

Everyone may wonder why such an open dialogue. Well, after our discussion this weekend, my Wife took the time to learn more about kilts by looking thru the forum to try and understand more. She started with posts by me, so you know she didn't get much helpful information. Next time I'll suggest a few by some of our resident experts like Matt and Todd as well as some of the wives who choose to share their opinions.

Gentlemen, To my Wife
