Heart Attack!! Mom Likes my Kilt
So I'm out and about today in my Amerikilt Putty, cream kilt hose, brown wingtips, War 2 jacket, brown Greek fisherman cap with a Scotland flag pin.
Stop over at my 84 year old mother's place to take her some stuff and she says to me, "You look nice."
Course, she's Scot blood too...but a rare compliment from this grouchy old lady who seldom approved of anything I've done over the past 60 years.
Then stopped by the Avis stand at our little airport to return the rental car. Young lady there was polite but flustered..."Are you in a band?...I mean, do you play the bagpipes?...I mean, were you in a wedding?...I mean you're wearing a skirt...I mean KILT...sorry..." Smiled and told her I wore the kilt because its comfortable and I don't need a special occasion. She replied, "You're so bold...I love Page America."
The last reference is to our town of Page, Arizona...and often said about most anything that's wild, weird, different, unfair, hard to understand, etc.
But dang...a good day, my mother thinks I look nice and a pretty young lady thinks I'm bold
If you're worried about sallying forth kilted, don't. Get on out there. Its all good.
