    Linen Jacket Conversion

Recently I purchased a black linen jacket from Overstock.com.

My intent was to have a jacket that's more compatible with Southern summers - particularly graveside piping.

It wasn't terribly difficult & took me the better part of an afternoon. I ended up with is a black Aryll jacket substitute that's considerably more comfortable. I followed some of the tips offered in previous conversion threads, which were quite helpful.

Standing in the afternoon sun waiting for the cleric to finish can be mighty intolerable. It seems the more inclement the weather, the longer he speaks.

Linen jackets have a loose enough weave to permit air circulation all the way to one's skin. It really helps.

Also, I'm wearing a USA semi-trad kilt. To my surprise, it's far cooler than any woolen 8-yarder.

    Slainte yall,
    steve
