Just got around to posting this. Two weeks ago, Mrs. Pete and I went to Chicago for a bit of work then an extended stay to celebrate our anniversary. I was kilted the entire time and I have to tell you that Chicago is one of my favorite cities to be kilted in. Tons of great comments and chats with folks.

During after dinner drinks at a pub I was given a free pint by a group of folks glad to see the kilt--turns out, they were from Michigan too.

While we were there we went to a play called The Quiet Man Tales at the Chicago Theatre (yes the same Quiet Man that was made into the John Wayne movie) based on the Green Rushes by Maurice Walsh--great play.

As Mrs. Pete and I are walking up State Street to the theatre, I SWORE I heard pipes. It was almost surreal. As we get closer, sure enough, a lone piper was playing in front of the theatre dressed to the nines. He gave me a wink and a nod as we went in.

The next day we went to the Art Institute. We had several very good chats with folks about the kilt, tartans etc.

If you have the chance to enjoy Chicago (a former hometown of mine) enjoy it kilted!

Next time when I have a bit more time to plan I'll call up the Chicago rabble here and see if I can join in on a kilt night.
