It is toastmasters international. It is a weekly meeting of people who are working to be better public speakers and leaders. I've been doing it for 6 years and I love it. Trust me I was scared to death the first time I went to a meeting, now I am not afraid to talk to people at all. When i was in collage I couldn't do 2 minutes for speech class. Now I 2 minutes on improptu speaking at any time.
There are "goal levels" that you can acheive. The first is "Toastmaster" you got up in front of your fellow club members and talked about yourself for 5 minutes. You met your first goal. 2nd, "Conpetant Toastmaster" you completed 10 speeches! 3rd "Competant Leader" , you take on the different leadership roles with in the meetings, and are evaluated on them by a peer. They are there to help you.
Once you meet those 3 goals you can go for your "Advanced Toastmast Levels" The first is Bronze. That is 10 speeches from 2 different advanced topic books. These are like "intreptive reading", "storytelling," "The entertaining speaker," "The informative speaker" ( One i'm currently doing), "Special occasion speeches", "Speaking for television" . There are like 30 books available to choose from. After you have done your 10 speeches you turn in the paperwork to show you did them and you get your ATM-bronze pin. In my 6 years I have complete that (had to take 2 years off) And now I'm half way to my silver level (another 10 speechs out of different books). There is even a gold level. Once you get your gold, and complete the leadership track you can reach your piniecal as a Distinquished Toastmaster. :-)

When my rogue and I visited New Zealand a few years ago we got to meet with fellow toastmasters over there. It was really cool.
